One of Alon’s ‘heroic deeds’ that was not mentioned here is this: He was also the sniper who shot the well-known and beloved by the Palestinians, Shireen Abu Akle. Alon killed her in Jenin on May 11, 2022.
At first, it was believed that she had been killed by the bullets of one or more Palestinian resistance fighters. The US condemned this in the strongest possible terms. However, when it became increasingly clear that Abu Akle could have been killed by an Israeli sniper, the US changed its tune. Then the Biden administration did everything it could to cover up this case for the sake of Israel.
For millions of Palestinians, Abu Akle was the trusted source of information about what was happening in the West Bank. Her sudden death came as a great shock to the entire Palestinian community. And note this: Shireen was a Palestinian Christian who had American citizenship.
