Even today, Israelites are generally referred to as “Jews.” But Jews never exist. One of the tribes of ancient Israel was Judah; they were, in fact, Judeans, but they were, however, all Israelites. Moreover, ethnically, they have never been a cohesive people, as this Bible verse about Israel’s Exodus from Egypt demonstrates:
“A large group of people of all origins also accompanied them…” [Exodus 12:38]
This shows that ancient Israel was composed of mixed population groups.
